“ To say I have TMJ is like saying I have knee or I have elbow, the correct terminology is I have TMD or TMJD.” 


“It isn’t usually just the forward head posture, it is usually something else along with it.” 


“You should check their range of motion on opening, and right and left and you will have a good idea if they have a healthy range of motion or not.” 


“A normal range of opening is 45-50mm and right/left is 10-12mm.”


“You should be able to but 3-5lbs of pressure on all these muscles without it hurting but a lot of patients are through the roof in discomfort.” 


“I have my patients in treatment for 4-6 months to make sure they get the full results.” 


“It doesn’t always work, I have a 90% success rate for the jaws that are locked closed.”


“Caffeine is fine, but I would limit it to less than 2 cups normal sized of coffee a day.” 


“Hydrating the muscles is so important.”
