This week on A Tale of Two Hygienists TIPisode we are joined by Stephanie Botts, RDH who is a clinical hygienist and ergonomic specialist. Today Stephanie talks to us about getting your patient into a supine position.
“I often see patients positioned much too high in the chair.”
“If we can support their cervical spine they are much more likely to allow us to lean them all the way back.”
“If we use cushions they can be a great ergonomic tool for us as well.”
“I use cushions for most of my patients, especially my geriatric patients.”
“Pre-Recline the patient chair to 30 degrees or so before you bring the patient back.”
